U.S. Soccer Girls Development Academy Coming to North Florida

The United Soccer Alliance has been granted the U.S. Soccer Girls Development Academy (DA). This highly exclusive program, designed to implement the highest standards in girls’ youth soccer development, will operate out of the Clay County Soccer facility along with club partnerships throughout the region. Under the direction of Luis Torres and Morgan Church, the Girls DA Program will include some of the area’s top coaches and trainers. The season kicks off in August 2017.

U.S. Soccer is launching the Girls Development Academy Program in an effort to advance the development of world-class female players. U.S. Soccer has identified 70 nationally recognized clubs based on recent accomplishments, proven training philosophy and an environment that cultivates and maximizes female youth player development.

Girls DA league games and college showcases will be scouted by U.S. Soccer Youth National Team coaches and staff. The Girls DA serves as a pathway to U.S. Soccer’s Youth National and college teams. The environment will be tailored for the most committed and elite players in the region in the ages of U14 through U19.

Luis Torres, the United Soccer Alliance DA Director, has a long-standing reputation in cultivating developmental environments, benefitting many of the region’s former and current Youth National Team and College players. U.S. National Team midfielder Morgan Brian, one of Torres’ former players, will serve as a technical advisor to our Girls DA program.

Morgan Church serves as the United Soccer Alliance DA Technical Director and College Recruiting Coordinator for the program. Morgan possesses a USSF “A” License and over twelve years of coaching experience, including nine years at the NCAA Division 1 level.

Torres and Church have worked together for over three years with the U.S. Soccer Training Centers.
Torres is currently a member of the U.S. Soccer Scouting and Training Center Regional Staff.
